(More customer reviews)I bought this hoop to replace one I bought a couple of years ago made by Gaiam. This hoop doesn't work as well for me as the other one. I am already familiar with basic hooping and can keep it up for as long as I want. I only bought this one because Gaiam no longer makes their own hoop and I left mine in another state. This hoop was PAINFUL! It's metal underneath the foam, and the foam isn't nearly thick enough to make up for it. My stomach isn't perfectly defined, of course, and maybe the extra chunk is making it more uncomfortable. Also the hoop is MUCH larger than my other one. I measured out the diameter when I ordered it and it didn't seem so large. I'm 5'10", so I thought it would be ok. I think to make this usable I will have to wear my Everlast Slimmer belt to pad my tummy a bit. The DVD isn't really about hooping, it's regular circuit moves (squats, pushups, plank) and hooping for a few seconds in between. It isn't a nice-flowing exercise DVD like you may be used to, like 10-minute Solutions or Crunch. This hoop is well-constructed and I know it won't fall apart or anything. But it will definitely take some getting used to.
