I bought the Nathan Women's Hydration Vest in 2009 after borrowing a CamelBak from a friend. I didn't care for the CamelBak. I read several reviews of different hydration packs and decided to go with a Nathan. I have used this in 3 adventure races thus far. I prefer the Women's Nathan over the CamelBak and here is why:
1. The Nathan stayed close to my body (no annoying bouncing).
2. The Nathan's straps didn't losen.
3. Other than a little weight I barely noticed the Nathan.
4. The pockets on the front made accessing race items (like gel packs) super easy.
5. The Nathan didn't have a strap that would ride up and strangle me like the Camelbak.
What I didn't like. You must close the valve on the water line or air leaks back into the bladder causing sloshing -which can get annoying. I would rather leave the water valve in open during a run.
I would like a larger stoarge pocket on the back, one that could hold maps or other larger items.
I fill my water pack with ice water and it helps keep my back cool. By the end of my races the ice is completely melted and the water all gone.
